What this website collects

The HeadTwistingHistory website has no signup forms, comments, payments or visitor accounts. We do not add analytics scripts, advertising trackers or social media tracking pixels. The website’s own code does not set cookies or save information in your browser’s local storage.

Hosting and technical information

The website is designed for hosting on Hetzner. When you request a page or file, the hosting server receives technical information such as your IP address, the time of your request, the requested address and information about your browser. Server access and error logs may record this information to support security, troubleshooting and reliable delivery.

This information is separate from advertising or audience analytics. This page does not state a fixed log retention period because that depends on the hosting configuration.

Films hosted on this website

Some films may be served directly from this website. Preview images load as you browse; the video player loads when you choose a film. Playback does not require a YouTube connection. Our hosting server receives the technical requests needed to deliver the film.

YouTube previews and playback

Episode preview images are loaded from YouTube’s image servers. Loading an image sends a request to YouTube, which can include your IP address and browser information. The image requests are configured not to send this page’s address as a referrer.

The YouTube video player is not loaded until you select an episode. Where your browser supports the player dialog, the video uses YouTube’s privacy enhanced embed domain, youtube-nocookie.com. This does not make playback anonymous. YouTube may receive device and playback information, and cookies or other storage may be used when you interact with its player.

You can also choose “Watch on YouTube” to visit YouTube directly. If the embedded player is unsupported, the episode link opens the video on YouTube instead. YouTube and Google handle data under their own privacy policy (opens a new tab).

Fonts and artwork

Our fonts, brand artwork and main website illustration are served from this website. They do not require connections to a third party font service.

Other websites

Links to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Pessimists Archive and other sources take you to independent websites. Those services have their own privacy practices. Our social links are ordinary links, not embedded social feeds.

Your choices

You can read this website without playing a video or following an external link. Your browser’s privacy settings can restrict cookies and third party requests. Some settings may prevent episode images or videos from loading.
